Most often, belts break down due to very accelerated wear caused by lack of lubrication or use of low quality lubricants. The life of a belt in a properly used home treadmill is about 5 years.
The running belt wears from the bottom, so the first signs of its wear are not visible to the user. The signs are dull belt operation and engine overheating, as well as errors (often E02, E05, E01, err92) and the treadmill turning off after a few minutes of training. In extreme cases of wear, the belt may crack at the weld and bulge, its surface becomes slippery.
Checking the running belt for wear
A simple way to check the condition of your belt is to stand on the treadmill in front of the monitor (with the machine switched off) and push yourself back with your hands, you should move quite smoothly along with the treadmill belt, if the belt is resisting then it most likely needs to be replaced, remember that the treadmill top is an element that also wears out and in extreme cases it should be replaced together with the belt (its surface can wear out or wrinkle from the temperature). Replacing the belt involves disassembling the entire treadmill and we recommend leaving this task to a reputable service.
