Table tennis – one of the most popular disciplines, which we learned in our early school years. Many of us still remember the old and worn-out equipment of schools in the past, including the worn-out rackets on which we learned this game. School days are fading away, and ping pong, enjoying increasing popularity, is moving from schools to homes and sports clubs - where we can continue our acquired skills by equipping ourselves with our own, good quality rackets. You will find the best ones below.
Table tennis rackets
To start playing ping pong, you don't need to have any specific predispositions or already developed playing techniques. Anyone who wants to can play ping pong. All you need is good company and the right equipment. If you have access to a tennis table at home or at a club, community center or school gym, the only thing you need to equip yourself with is a good ping pong racket. By using your own racket, you will ensure a high level of comfort while playing and learning basic techniques. It is therefore worth investing in it - especially since it is not an expensive product.
Ping pong racket, which one to choose?
If you are a beginner, you do not have to equip yourself with a professional racket for the game at the beginning. A basic model will be sufficient, on which you will conveniently learn everything you need to, and with time and increasing skills you can equip yourself with better quality accessories. Remember, however, that even a basic racket for the game should be comfortable and made of good quality materials. What is worth paying attention to when buying a table tennis racket?
- Quality of workmanship. The most important parameter, because it will decide how long the purchased product will last. Therefore, it is worth choosing a bat of a well-known brand (e.g. Cornilleau or Sponeta) when buying, to be sure about the materials from which it is made.
- Thickness of the lining – depending on whether you are an offensive or defensive player, you should choose a thinner or thicker lining accordingly. To start with, it will be safe to opt for a universal thickness, which is in the range of 1.3–2.0 mm.
- Price. If you are just starting out playing ping pong, you don't have to choose high-end rackets. It's better to invest in a good ping pong table that will last for years - you can change the racket to a new one at any time. However, don't buy the cheapest rackets from unknown manufacturers - as you know, an equally important parameter when choosing a racket is its quality.
