The speed is also determined by the number of wood layers and their thickness. Some combinations have a carbon layer, which provides additional stiffness and therefore greater speed. The lightweight ALL+ is made of 5 layers of plywood. It is not one of the fastest boards, but it makes up for it with the precision of directed hits.
