Softer than the X51, Target Pro GT-H47 impresses with its performance and reliability. Target Pro is a series of rubbers that is the result of a research and development program involving experts from Cornilleau, Michelin engineers and the world's largest rubber manufacturer. The aim of this project was to achieve the highest level of performance and safety in topspin and counter-topspin strokes.
Each top layer, developed jointly by Cornilleau and Michelin experts, has a special formula that optimises flexibility, as well as a unique stud shape.
All Cornilleau rubbers are ITTF accredited for official use in international tournaments.
Speed
The special formula and cell structure allow the NEXTENS sponge to interact more effectively with the nubs located under the surface in contact with the ball. The GT (Great Tension) evolution in our NEXTENS sponge provides additional strength and also transfers more rotation to the ball.
Speed is determined by the specifics of the sponge + top layer, and primarily by the properties of the sponge (the "spring effect" of elasticity + thickness + hardness). A thick sponge (2.0mm or max) will be more suitable for OFF/OFF+ players, while a thinner one (1.6 or 1.8mm) will provide better control and will be better suited to all-round players. Sponge hardness is usually measured in degrees (higher grades mean harder sponge).
Ball rotation
The outer layers of GRIP EXTEND PLUS allow for even more spin to be transferred in every phase of the game thanks to increased elasticity and an impressive level of grip. The grip is determined by the specificity of the sponge + top layer, and above all by the properties of the top layer (grip + elasticity + shape). With better grip, the ball's spin will be better. Then, greater elasticity will increase the contact surface with the ball. The shape and density also have a big influence on the effect.
SPIN-DRIVE 3D technology is the optimization of 3 performance settings in the top layer: shape, size and density. This technology, built into the TARGET PRO GT, provides a unique combination of maximum grip and power.
