Lubrication of the running belt
One of the most common questions we get from treadmill owners is about treadmill lubrication. This issue is addressed in three ways. Customers ask when to lubricate a treadmill, where to apply treadmill lubricant, and why to lubricate a treadmill? We will discuss each of these topics.
Most treadmill owners don’t know they need to lubricate their treadmills until they have a problem with their machine. If you want to reduce the risk of damaging your treadmill, you should keep it clean and lubricate the running belt regularly. Many people ask when and how often to lubricate your treadmill. The answer depends on the type of lubricant you have. Most treadmill manufacturers recommend lubricating once a month. We recommend doing it every 20 to 30 hours of running the treadmill. The best way to check the lubrication level is to put your hand under the belt. If the surface is slippery and damp, there is no need to lubricate. Check again in a few days to see if the surface is slippery. If not, lubrication is necessary.
Where to lubricate treadmills?
This is a common question and requires a little explanation. The motor area does not require lubrication. The rollers, also known as treadmill shafts, usually have sealed bearings, so they do not require lubrication. The area between the belt and the treadmill deck is the only area that requires lubrication. NEVER lubricate the top of the belt. We have encountered such cases. A belt lubricated from its top is practically useless and must be replaced. REMEMBER, the belt is always lubricated from its bottom sliding layer, on the surface that is in contact with the treadmill deck during use.
