The KARA KUM aluminum roof tent by OFFLANDER is a durable and strong model that will be a reliable travel companion regardless of the destination of your next expedition.
The unique KARA KUM is a construction innovation on the Polish market. The KARA KUM tent is another version of the TRIANGLE series tent. We designed a tent with a slightly narrower base, while slightly elongated to accommodate taller people. We used a unique two-stage folding system that allows you to sleep in a tent with a sloping roof or fully open. The increased volume and large windows put this tent on the pedestal of innovation and comfort.
It is dedicated to larger cars, due to its expedition purpose. It is perfect for 2-person teams who value comfort, additional space, durability and solid workmanship. Its hard cover will withstand driving through forests, deserts and even snowstorms.
COMFORT FOR 2 PEOPLE
Inside there is a mattress measuring 200 x 120 cm and 5 cm thick. This is enough surface area to provide comfortable sleep and rest for two people. The mattress is made of comfortable memory foam and a removable cover.
There is an anti-condensation mat under the mattress. This is a special layer that is designed to limit the condensation of water vapour. During the use of the tent, especially when the outside temperature is lower and the inside is warmer, moisture in the form of water vapour begins to condense on cold surfaces, including the roof tent material. This can lead to the formation of moisture, mould and fungi, which in turn can negatively affect the condition of the tent and the comfort of use.
The anti-condensation mat works on the principle of a breathable membrane. This layer has microscopic porous holes that allow water vapor to pass through while retaining water droplets.
TIP: If condensation occurs, it is recommended to wipe the accumulated water with a dry cloth. The thickness of the mattress is limited by the construction of the tent - if it is too thin for you, we recommend additional inflating mats or mattress toppers. With this tent construction, you can fit bedding and pillows in it. Closing the tent may be difficult depending on how much you want to fit in it.
INTERIOR OF THE TENT
The inner part of the cover is covered with a soft car lining, to which various accessories can be attached with Velcro, such as bags, pockets, lighting, power banks, etc.
The set includes two luggage nets and two large pockets. They have Velcro on one side, so you can change their arrangement as you like. We have also included permanent LED lighting with adjustable light intensity. Just connect a 5V power source via a USB connector. You will find four additional smaller pockets for accessories on the inner walls of the tent.
Car felt is a durable material that does not discolour, breathes well, is not harmful to the environment and does not cause allergies. Additionally, it collects condensation on its surface very well during condensation. Water droplets remain on the surface, do not drip and evaporate quickly when temperatures rise.
The tent has 6 windows with detachable mosquito nets, which offer an almost panoramic view of the surroundings. The entrance to the tent is located on three sides.
TIP: Remember to secure the ladder well before use. A ladder placed on uneven ground can be damaged. Make sure to secure it well - if it moves away, block it with a stone or drive a peg to block it. As a last resort, you can also move the car to another place.
SPEED OF FOLDING
Most people traveling with roof tents, when they arrive at the campsite, immediately start setting up the tent. They are tired from the journey, it takes a long time and requires a lot of energy, sometimes it is already dark and there are other duties that require attention.
The KARA KUM tent takes 1 minute to set up. Get out of your car and start camping in 60 seconds. Simply open the four zippers, push the cover up on both sides, and attach the tension rods. No more complicated struggles after a long drive.
TIP: Start by unfastening the tent from the front by releasing the buckles. Then go to the back of the tent and do the same. Folding the tent is done in reverse order. Tuck the material well behind the shell seals, sometimes when the tent stands for a long time water can seep inside depending on the weather conditions.
DURABLE AND AERODYNAMIC DESIGN
The frame structure uses T-SLOT technology, which allows for the installation of additional accessories such as: shovel and axe holders, mounting eyes for ropes and luggage nets, gangway holders and lighting, awning and roof mounting. T-SLOT technology is an innovative way of connecting structural elements. It involves the use of special aluminum profiles that have characteristic "T"-shaped recesses. Due to the ease of assembly and disassembly, such structures can be quickly and easily modified, which makes them very flexible and universal.
This solution provides endless possibilities during the expedition. Additionally, in the event of mechanical damage to any of the tent components, it allows for quick replacement of the mount, actuator or hinge.
TIP: Remember to check the tent and additional accessories' fastenings from time to time. It's best to do it before, during and after the trip. We've learned from our own experience that a long ride with a tent in the field means constant vibrations that tend to loosen even the most tightly screwed nuts.
VENTILATION AND WATERPROOF
The tent is made of durable RIP-STOP fabric with a density of 280G and a water resistance of 2000 mm. The material will easily withstand several hours of heavy rain. Such fabric parameters guarantee that it will be waterproof, resistant to mold and mechanical damage, and will also provide you with proper ventilation and access to fresh air inside.
The RIP-STOP technique means that a thread of stronger fiber has been added at regular intervals. This improvement additionally prevents the material from tearing. The zippers at the window openings have also been secured so that water does not get inside.
TIP: Remember that this is a tent. Like any other, whether on the roof or on the ground, it must be properly positioned and spread out. Level the tent, if you are standing on uneven ground, put stones, beams under the wheels or even dig a hole to catch the level. An open tent on uneven ground can have a negative effect on the hinges, gas springs or even the entire structure of the tent. The second piece of advice is to always set up the tent against the wind, i.e. with a slope, shell or sideways without entrances into the wind. It will not blow, it will not get wet, it will not fly away.
TROPIC
The stretched flysheet creates a roof over the entrance. It provides protection from rain and excessive sun. You no longer have to close all the windows during unfavorable weather.
The flysheet is made of Oxford 420D fabric and PU waterproofness of 2000-3000 mm. This material is characterized primarily by high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. Oxford 420D is made of nylon or polyester, which is impregnated with a PU coating (polyurethane), which makes it waterproof and protects against moisture. The fabric is also characterized by a good appearance and elegant finish. This material is easy to clean and maintain, so keeping it in good condition is not a problem.
TIP: the flysheet can be rolled up and secured to the top of the tent structure. When the weather is good or you just want to have a better view, the flysheet won't get in your way. You also don't have to unroll the flysheet to pack the tent or unfold and fold the poles to tension it.
ACCESSORIES
For your comfort and space, the tent comes with two bags in which you can store your shoes or other essential items. Inside the tent, in its upper part, there is lighting in the form of an LED strip, which you can turn on by connecting a power bank to it. It allows you to illuminate the interior and makes it easier to move around in it after sunset. LED lighting uses very little energy, so you don't have to worry about it suddenly going out unexpectedly.
The tent also comes with a foldable aluminum ladder that you can place in one of three places around the tent. It is light, handy and doesn't take up much space.

The name was created from a combination of two concepts that are close to us: offroad and overlanding . OFFROAD is freedom and independence, overcoming obstacles, sometimes lacking a plan or sleeping under the stars. OVERLANDING, on the other hand, is more planned travel, with family and friends, camping on campsites, traveling on gravel roads, without overcoming more difficult obstacles. The new name is to refer to the style of traveling and the new assortment that we are happy to design for you.
